Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party!
What is a Bead Soup Blog Party?
Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the
following:
~ A focal
~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw)~ Some coordinating spacers or beads
~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw)~ Some coordinating spacers or beads
Here is the soup ingredients I got from my partner,
charming Jana (number 78 on the list below)
Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating beads or not.
Here's what I made!
I made so far three pieces, 2 necklaces and a bracelet. Some of the beads and bits I got are awaiting their places.
The focal, gorgeous tigereye-pendant is accompanied by lovely lampwork beads and some of the crystals of the soup. The colours from focal and lampwork beads are in the leather and silk cords, too. The chain just wanted to come along in the necklace, which has no clasp, it's semi-long :-)
And the third piece, where are hematite beads from the soup (yes, new to me but I fell in love with the hematite!), so, they just wanted some colour to go with; I had ordered some polymer clay tubes and beads from Carola (number 162 on the party-list, by the way!) and these beads go together just terrificly well! So well, that my son insisted on having this necklace altered a little more masculine for him. I'll show you the result later!
And the list of participants you'll find right down there in the earlier post !
Hematiitit olivat uusi tuttavuus, joihin ihastuin.
Kaulakoru riipuksella on hykerryttävän herkullinen yhdistelmä materiaaleista, tykkään, tykkään!! Ja alin kaulakoru on tunnelmaltaan mukavan mystinen. Putkihelmet ovat upeat.
ReplyDeleteUskomatonta, tuo kaulakoru on niin sanonkuvaamattoman ihana, persoonallinen, kaikki sointuu kauniisti. Nauhat on ihania , samoin nuo lamppuhelmet.

ReplyDeleteMags - Your pieces are so elegant! Great use of your soup. They're all Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis necklace really captures memories I have of visiting Finland many years ago. The focal reminds me if the pines and birch wood and the ribbons remind me of the flowers near a lake . What a beautiful job mixing maculine qualities of the stones with the feminine ribbon and brighter lampwork. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteLovely job...Especially like the colours in the last necklace... for your son! Is that 'telephone' wire in the first necklace? Love the touch of lavender in that one!
ReplyDeleteThe second piece is my favorite, but they are all really cool - I love those colors. Would wear them all. have fun hopping.
